Today was my last appointment with my primary care physician who is Dr. Nordell Brown. He had decided to just be a pediatrician now and focus on the little ones. He is Gracie's doctor and such a wonderful man. He has saved my life countless numbers of times and I just hope I can find a replacement as wonderful as he has been. Of course at the lab today they had the same problem they always do...couldn't find a vein so I am a human pin cushion. Got home and was really thirsty and that usually means one thing...I have high blood sugar. I tested my blood sugar and it was 465! I couldn't believe it! I had been fasting for the blood work, but before I left for the doctor I was 110, so I don't know what happened. I gave me a bolus of 18 units knowing it would very slowly come down, I checked it again an hour later and...It was 498! I knew something was wrong so I called Dr. Brown himself and he had me rip the IV out, give me a regular shot of humalog and put a new IV in. It has been so many years since I have had to give me a shot in my stomach that it actually scared me and didn't feel real great either, but it did the trick. I am now sitting pretty at 118 thank goodness! And thanks to Dr. Brown too!
Luke had a long drive contest tonight at Birch Creek, so Gracie and I went and watched and my cute parents showed up too! It was lots of fun and a beautiful day to get out and enjoy the weather! I have been telling Luke he never gives me flowers ever so today he brought me home a rose. SO sweet, even if it is because I have been hounding him for one lol. Men just need to appreciate women more. I hate getting flowers on only valentines or an anniversary. My favorite time for flowers is the just because ones. That is when I feel so loved and needed.
I should have brought the camera to the golf course to take a pic of Luke, but with my blood sugars on my mind, grabbing the camera was the last thing I was thinking of. But I will post pics soon. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

The Zoo, Father's Day and the WWE!!!!!!!!!...need I say more?
I should have posted last week but so much has been happening and Gracie and I have been sick with a cold that seems to finally be leaving! Luke and I took Gracie to the zoo last Saturday and she seemed to really like it. She liked watching the monkeys swing around. I should have taken a pic of Luke, Gracie and the animals but I didn't even think about it until we were back out in the parking lot, but here is a cute shot!

Father's day was fun since it was Luke's first father's day with a daughter. We went and had dinner with my family and here is a pic of my cute Dad opening his goodies.

Here is Luke showing off his favorite gift!

Monday night was so awesome. Mark and I went to the WWE at the E-Center and it was everything and more than I thought it would be. The only bad part of the night was about the time the last event started, I got a migraine and it came on quick. We were in a sold out crowd, so there was no getting out early. I thought I was going to puke the whole way home so I had Mark stay in the right lane in case we needed to pull over quick, but we made it all the way to Brigham before I lost it. I felt terrible I ruined the evening, but up until that point it was so much fun. I don't know how many of you are wresting fans, but Shawn Michaels has always been my favorite (besides The Rock of course) and he was on the list of events for the night, but never made an appearance which really sucked. But I did get to see Triple H and Jerico in the main event which was so awesome and Jeff Hardy, John Cena and even the retired Rick Flair made an appearance also. It was so dark that the pictures didn't turn out great, but here is one of Triple H right before we left. We had awesome seats. Take a look at this pic!

Before the show started we went and checked out their semi's so here is Mark with one of his babes and here is a pic of my Shawn Michaels!

We will be making that a tradition each time they come. I have never seen more white trash in my life, but that just made the whole experience even funner! Mullet mania. I should have taken pics of all of them!
I am so truly honored and blessed to have Mark for my little brother. He and I have always been really close and I just love him more than he will ever know. After Gracie was born and everything that happened to me in the hospital, the first person I remember being there was Mark. I don't remember much about the whole hospital stay, but I do remember Mark holding my hand in the recovery room and him talking to me and it is a moment I will treasure forever. I love you Mark!
Here is one last photo of my little Gracie today. It's too bad I didn't get a close up of her knees because they are raw from crawling along with the tops of her feet...poor baby!

Look Who's Crawling!
Gracie decided to crawl for the first time last Friday and I was going to post it right away, and now that I have this new video camera, it has taken me awhile to figure out how to post it, but here it is. Hope it doesn't make you motion sick. I wasn't planning on her crawling when she did, so I wasn't overly steady with the camera. She is so cute. This camera just doesn't do her justice!
Gracie and I both have a horrible head cold which sucks. She hasn't slept through the night all week and we all know that means neither do I! I took her upstairs the other night at midnight because she wouldn't stop crying and I didn't want her to wake Luke up since he had to be up early, so we spent 4 hours in the recliner upstairs. Luke let me know he didn't even know I was gone. That is a man for you!
Tonight I was hoping to be at the demolition derby with my cute little brother, but I didn't want to get him sick, so we stayed home darn it. This coming Monday Mark is taking me on a date to the WWE show in SLC. I don't know how many of you know my love for the WWE, but I am pumped and even more pumped to be going with my little brother! Wahoo! I will fill you in when I get back. Hope everyone is having a super day!

15 Years Ago Today
I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone know how grateful I am to be alive and be blessed with all of the many wonderful things I am blessed with on a daily basis. Exactly 15 years ago today, marks the first day I was diagnosed with diabetes. It was the night before graduation when I went into a coma and I would have to say that I think I do a mighty fine job at taking care of myself. Besides this stupid weight I can't get off!
Most of you know that I have been on an insulin pump now for about 10 years which has drastically changed my life. Before the pump I was doing at least 3 shots a day and I was to the point where I would just dread breakfast, lunch or dinner because it meant not only poking me to find out what my blood sugar was, but also to give me a shot of insulin so I could eat. And as most of you know I am still to this day terrified of needles! The pump has been so great for me. It is an IV that I only have to replace about once every 3 days which beats shots 3 times a day. It was hard to get used to wearing the pump 24/7, but now I can't imagine not having it. Technology has come so far just in the past 15 years. I truly don't believe I will see a cure in my lifetime, but I think they have made great strides in diabetes, and I hope they continue to do so because that just buys me more time with my little Gracie and cute family and dogs. I used to always take for granted so many things like just waking up, going to the cupboard and getting my cereal and eating it. Now I do that, but not before I take 1000 pills, check my blood and give me insulin. I miss the days of not having to be on so much medication, but I wouldn't be here without it.
Some days are harder than others with diabetes, but overall....I think things are going to be just fine! I hope all is well with everyone! Keep smiling and know you are loved!
Oh, and...my cute, cute friend Michelle stopped by tonight for a suprise visit with her cute hubby Troy and the boys. She looked fabulous and it was so great seeing her, even though the house was a mess and I look like death warmed over, lol. Thanks for stopping by Michelle! We love you!

Marshmellow's, Pickles and Cheetos....Oh My!
Well, let me start off my saying sorry for how long it has been since I posted last. I just went through all my pictures and there are so many I made a slide show for you!
Park City with my Mom was fun, but Gracie was just too small to want to shop all day so next year Luke agreed he would watch her so the girls could go play.
Gracie has been trying all sorts of new foods even though there is no sign of a tooth yet and she is so cute. Lemon's and Lime's don't seem to bother her at all, she loves them! She is growing up faster than ever in so many ways. I realize just how big she is now when I see a newborn baby. Where has the time gone?
Mother's Day was extra special this year since I am finally a Mom. Luke got me a flip video camera and so I can now post videos of Gracie. I know, just what you all were hoping for lol! He also got me a big, beautiful bouquet of flowers and the 27 Dresses DVD. I am so spoiled. We got to spend Mother's Day with my cute Mom who is the best Mom ever! I love you Mom!
My newest addiction is mob wars on Facebook. It has been so addicting and I have met so many new people on there and so many old friends from high school. It's kinda fun to see all the different roads we have all taken in life since high school.
As for my diet.... still working hard at it and haven't lost a pound. I haven't gained either so I guess that is a plus. The dogs sure do give me a workout on our walks. I will have to have Luke take a picture of me walking the five dogs on leashes and Gracie in her stroller. I am sure it is quite the sight, but we have fun and it is great exercise for me.
I had the opportunity to go back to work for a few days last week and it was soooo great catching up with everyone and the doctors too, well some of them at least lol... I feel fortunate to have a job that lets me come back every now and then, but for the most part be able to stay home and be a Mom!
Luke and I went and put a beautiful bouquet of flowers on his Mom's grave for Memorial day. The cemetery is so beautiful this time of year. I wish it was that way year round. There are so many graves that never get flowers which makes me sad, but I am sure those family members of the deceased live far away or there would be flowers there too.
The main road that takes us to Logan is closing for construction on Monday so we get to make our trip to Logan an extra half hour by driving through Sardine Canyon which I am not looking forward to, but Gracie sure loves the car and she LOVES her new car seat. I had to put a picture of her in the slide show in her new car seat. She just loves it!
I added the pictures of Gracie loving my bubble gum...hope you enjoy!

Cucumber Thief & Lotsa Pics!
Happy May! Can you believe it is already May? The older I get the faster time flies right on by me. Gracie is growing and changing so much on a daily basis. I take so many pictures of her and I am fortunate enough to be able to stay home with her full time and that still isn't enough time with her! She is so cute. Her newest fascination is with me chewing bubble gum. I will blow this big bubble while she is sitting in front of me and she tries to grab it with both hands, so I pull her hands down and she just leans in and sucks on the other end of the bubble. It is so cute and so funny. These little angels have such clever minds at such a young age.
When she is done eating, I pull the bib halfway off of her head and she makes the funniest faces. I think she looks like the flying nun!

We went to cousin Hayden's 5th bday party on the 15th of April, so here is a pic of Hayden and Addison. So cute!

I have so many pictures to show everyone...here is Gracie in her new stroller getting bundled up because it was cold outside, and the next day it was nice and warm go figure!

My cute Mom came out last week and watched Gracie while Luke was in Indiana so I could go and walk Peanut and the hounds and she brought me these beautiful flowers! Nothing brightens my day like flowers! And my favorite color too!

Gracie loves her jumperoo. She bounces nonstop all day. When you are holding her, she starts to bounce in your arms. Maybe she should be a kangaroo for halloween this year!

The dogs sure do love Miss Gracie and love to lay right next to her!

In this picture, Gracie fell asleep while she was trying to crawl, so Sadie decided to curl up on Gracie's blanket.

Gracie loves to be a part of everything, so if I am in the kitchen cooking, I just put her in her chair and she is so content, even if it is with my diet root beer bottle! The other night I chopped up a cucumber and must have set it to close to her, because when I turned around, she was eating them!

Here she is on her way to Grandma's house. She loves to go see Grandma and PaPa Rick!

Here we are in our look alike shoes:

The other night I was taking a picture of Millie and the camera has a slight delay and during that delay Millie sneezed and this is what the camera took a picture of. So cute!

A few weeks ago we were at Grandma's and Gracie needed some cooler jammies than the ones we had brought over, so she got put in some boy jammies, and she makes quite a cute boy too!

Here are a few misc. pics:

Sadie wasn't feeling so great yesterday, so she got extra lovins from me!

Last but not least is Daddy daughter pics:

The other night, Luke took Gracie out on the deck and I snapped this shot which I absolutely love. This little girl loves her daddy soooo much!

Pictures are better than words, so I hope everyone loves the pictures as much as I do and that everyone has a super week! Gracie has to have her finger pricked Monday for an anemia screening which I am dreading, but then off to Park City later in the week with my cute Mom! We are going to go for 3 days and shop until we drop! Wahoo!

Lisa is Officially on the Fat Wagon!
I know it is a shocker that I am finally posting...I have been such a slacker lately. I really need to post pics of my cute baby girl, but that would mean I have to go downstairs to get the memory card and I am just to pooped.
Today I woke up and took Gracie over to my Mom's so that I could go to lunch with my cute friend Michelle for her bday. We went to Fredrico's which was fabulous. If it has anything to do with food for me, then it is fabulous, hence the size 16 pair of pants I am squeezing myself into daily. Michelle looked so cute and we had so much fun. Wish time didn't go by so fast so we got to see each other more often! Happy Bday to Michelle this Thursday! Love you!
Back to the squeezing into jeans bit...that is all that has been consuming my mind lately. The thyroid is getting under control and I have been on the pills now for about 6 weeks, but I still haven't lost anything and it is so frusturating. I exercise more than ever, watch what I eat, and I continue to gain a pound each and every week. I have officially outgrown everything in my closet and I refuse to go buy bigger clothes, so the poor world has to sustain retinal damage by looking at my fat, white body. I just feel yucky. It is one of those things that no matter how long I spend in front of the mirror, I am not pleased with the end project. I feel like maybe if I could just starve myself for a month, then the weight would start coming off, but then I would be dead. Just so frusturating! Grrrr...enough rambling on about me.
Gracie turns 9 months tomorrow. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast! Where has the time gone? I am truly blessed to be able to stay home with her and raise her. I can't imagine having it any other way. I don't want to miss anything, and as much as I loved working at the hospital, I just couldn't give up my time and memories with Gracie to stay working there full time. They have been great to call me back every now and then and it is fun to see everyone and I am so lucky to have a cute Mom that can watch her when I am in a pinch. I don't trust many people with her, daycare, neighbors, etc. How sad is that? I am just Mrs. Overprotective!
Luke is in Indiana now. He has been there since Monday for work. I miss him so much. It seems like he has been gone for weeks already. Tonight I mopped the floors, vacuumed, scrubbed down the kitchen, bathrooms, cleaned the fridge...I am pooped! And carrying that extra 30+ pounds doesn't help anything, and how do I reward myself? With a big fat brownie. I justify that with the sugarfree applesauce I put in them instead of oil..hee, hee, hee.. And I wonder why I can't lose weight!
Thanks to Facebook, I have found some old friends, high school buddies and even my cousin Adam who I haven't seen in ages, so it is fun catching up with them and I love that I can stay updated with the ones that have blogs! Wahoo!
Hope all is well with everyone!
Kisses!
