Lisa STILL Has the Crud Bug!

Not much has happened around the Johnson home besides sickness! Gracie still has her crud but I am thinking it is on its way out, except everyday she manages to get a temperature of at least 103. I thought maybe she was getting a tooth, but there is no sign of a tooth. It just scares me to death. The doc says to just give her a cool bath and some tylenol and it always does the trick. I just want to know what is causing it.

As for me, I had my blood drawn last friday and of course it was a nightmare. I have had the flu and it hit really bad last Thursday. So bad I couldn't eat or drink anything, so I was extremely dehydrated for this blood draw that had to be done on Friday according to Dr. Kirkman to get the right hormone levels tested. She could not find a vein! Anywhere she saw what looked like a scar or a freckle, she stabbed hoping it was an old scar that led to a vein! After 45 minutes she used the vein on the top of my hand and it took another 45 minutes to drain the blood out! I thought I was going to pass out! The tests came back two days ago and I found out that I had something called Graves disease, but no longer have it because my thyroid has stopped working all together. Dr. K thinks it is from the brain trauma when I had Gracie. So I start the thyroid pill tomorrow. He said it was so hard for me to realize all of the symptoms after just having a baby because they are things like fatigue, always being so tired and worn out, losing your hair, gaining weight...stuff that normally happens after you have a baby. I have continued to put on almost 5 pounds a month since December which has been sooooooo frustrating considering I am watching everything that I eat. Dr. K said within a few months I should start to notice some weight loss and my energy level should increase. If I don't lose weight soon, we are going to have to widen the doors on this new house! I hate not fitting into my clothes and I refuse to go buy bigger ones. I got down to only having 14 pounds more to lose before my pre-pregnancy weight and then this happens. When Dr. K called the drugs into my pharmacy he said the pharmacist just laughed because I am his most frequent filler. He felt bad saying that I seem to get one of everything. I just have to keep telling myself it isn't cancer and things are going to be ok! I just want to get my life back on track. I want my brain injury to be gone so that I can get my memory back and pick up the speed on my medical transcription class. Is that too much to ask for?

Gracie sure is growing like a weed, or should I say beautiful flower. Tonight when I tucked her in she grabbed onto my hands like she didn't want me to go. I am sure it meant nothing, but it felt like a million bucks! I am so madly in love with that little girl.

Luke managed to pull a muscle in his back at work and so he has been hurting pretty bad and you know men when they hurt anything....need I say more?

My cute Dad has the flu too. It is just going around, so everyone please spray your house down several times a day with lysol! The phones, the door knobs, sanitize your hands, your arms, even your face, your faucets, everything! This is the worst flu bug ever! I have had it for 3 weeks and counting!!!!! Given I no longer have an immune system so I catch everything and can't get rid of anything and that includes weight!

My Patrick Swayze has pancreas cancer which makes me just sick. I am sure he will die within the next few weeks, but boy will I miss him. He has been such a big part of my growing up! Hanging on my wall. Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie because of him. I hope he can pull through this, but his prognosis is not good. And him in Ghost, now that is a classic!

Oh Lisa I am sorry that you have been so sick, and Gracie, and Luke. And have quite the traumas in your life. Hang in there, and hopefully your run with sickness will have a turn here real quick.
