Gracie's Battle Wounds

Thursday, November 29, 2007

Well, my little Gracie survived the shots today and I barely did! I hate that so bad. I think that with all of the new technology they have now days they could come up with vaccines in drops or something without a needle. I would die if I had to have 3 shots in my legs. Although, the medicine would have so many layers of fat to go through that they would have to use a needle that is 10 inches long just to get it into my muscle!

Tonight is Grey's Anatomy! Woo Hoo! I just made homemade pizza dough with the kitchen aid and it turned out sooo yummy. Didn't look real pretty, but tasted mighty good! I have managed to go through a whole sack of flour in 2 days! LOL

I am going to try Steph's turtle recipe too, it sounds delicious and what is one more layer of fat on my thighs right? I really need to post some pics, I have some cute ones of Gracie and the hounds, so as soon as Luke hooks up the downloading thing from my camera to the computer, I will post them.

Dreading tomorrow

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

I have been dreading tomorrow for a month now. Gracie has to have her 4 month shots and I am hating it. I think it hurts me more than her. We are up in the new computer room and we aren't turning the heat up much up here because we aren't up here much, so Gracie and I are up here freezing, but I wanted to write and say hi.

I tried out my new kitchen aid mixer today by making my Mom's homemade cinnamon rolls. They are rising as we speak, so I hope they turn out. That mixer is the best invention ever! I have just been in the cooking mode lately. Luke seems to like it too.

I am off to go fold laundry and try to take my mind off of tomorrow. 9:00 am will be here soon enough. I can't wait until it is over!

Snowy Soup Day

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

I woke up this morning to snow! I can't believe it is already here. Although it didn't snow much, it put me in the mood to make my homemade turkey noodle soup with dumplings and oatmeal cookies. Needless to say, the house smells wonderful. The dogs are having a hard time adjusting. Millie has had two accidents in my new house already and that is so not like her. Hopefully that will come to an end quick or she will be outside a lot more!

I really need to get in the Christmas mood, but I am not even sure if we are going to get a tree this year for Christmas. We just have so much going on with the move and all and it is less than a month away! I can't wait until Gracie is old enough to get excited about Santa. That will be so much fun. The dogs sure do love that little girl.

So sick of moving!

Monday, November 26, 2007

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We moved all weekend, at least the big stuff and spent our first night in this house on Saturday night. All of the little stuff is still down at the other house so I am making trips all day long back and forth which is a pain, but I unpack it when I get here so there isn't such a mess. It is amazing how much crap we have collected over the years! Gracie has been kinda fussy and actually woke up from her nap with a little bloody nose! I feel so bad. She doesn't have a fever or anything, but she has slowed way down on what she eats too. She has to have her shots on Thursday which I am dreading. I hate being the bad guy! My poor, sweet baby girl!

Now that I am a stay at home Mom, I want to become an excellent cook. I am so anxious to break out my new Kitchen Aid Mixer and make something! The possibilities are endless! I am off to catch some sleep before Gracie wakes up.

Happy Turkey Day Eve!

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Happy Turkey Day Eve to all! I hope all of you have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving! I can't believe it is already here! Steph, after reading your post I have had mice on my mind...so I was in my room watching TV with Gracie and I walked into our front room and there sitting before me on the carpet was a mouse! A huge mouse! Floppy ears, tennis shoes, the works! I am sooo glad we are moving out of this house this weekend. It seems like the mice are out numbering us! Yuck! If I don't post for a few days it is because the computer is boxed up.

Gracie has to go in for shots next Thursday which I am dreading. I hate that day! Luke holds her down. I can't stand to do it. It is just so sad. She looks at me with those big eyes and is wondering how I could let anyone hurt her! I hate it! I was hoping to be in the new house so I could fix a turkey like Steph for leftovers, but that will have to be next year. Or maybe we will have turkey in a few weeks again. Who could ever get sick of Thanksgiving dinner? I am off to walk the hounds!

Sunny Day!

Monday, November 19, 2007

I can't believe that November is more than half over. That means Christmas is basically one month away! Where does the time go? When I was a little kid, it took years for Christmas to come!!!!! We are hoping to do the big move this weekend when Luke has a few days off. I am so anxious to get out of this house and into our new one, but on the other hand I am kind of sad to leave because we have created so many wonderful memories here. I just hope my cute dogs will adjust well to the new home. That worries me.

Today is so beautiful outside! I can't wait to walk the dogs. I think that it is supposed to get really cold this week too. I wish we could just skip the cold part over winter. Wouldn't that be nice? Steph, I love Harli's ugly outfit. Once she outgrows it you should cut it up and make it into a pillow or something so she can always remember it.

Dusting Day

Saturday, November17, 2007

I woke up this morning and took the 5 hounds on a walk. Got home and I have been dusting off all of our stereo/xbox/tv area so we can pack it all up and move it to the new house. I cannot believe how much dust has accumulated over the past few years. Back in those nooks and crannies that always get missed! This is where the trusty Dyson will come in handy. I bet I fill a few canisters just on the stereo stuff! Yuck! I hope Steph had luck catching her mouse. I hate mice. I hate that scratching noise when one is stuck in the wall. Then it dies and the smell is enough to knock you out and it lasts for like a week and you can't get to it because it is inside the wall! Grrrrr! Well, I am off to take a load of stuff up to the new house and drop Gracie off at Grandma and Grandpa's for awhile....

Lunch Date

Friday, November 16, 2007

Today I had a lunch date with my friend Brianne. It is so nice to be able to go out with adults once in awhile lol. My cute Mom watched Gracie so I could have some adult time. It is so beautiful outside today. The days just keep going by faster and faster, either that or I am aging faster than ever! Gracie is starting to see herself in the mirror now and it is so cute. It is such a good feeling to see your daughter smile back at you. Gracie is really starting to smile now and it makes me feel sooo good when I smile at her and she smiles back at me. It really is the little things in life that make it all worth it!(even though that is a huge thing for me!) :D

Gracie's singing debut!

Thursday, November 15, 2007

I just ran to the store tonight to pick up a few things and on the way home I had the 80's station cranked up and out of the backseat I hear little Gracie just singing along. It was so cute. Given she is only 3 1/2 months old, but she was making all of these noises and it sounded like she was trying to sing. I wish I would have had a tape recorder there. Do they even still make those anymore?

I managed to go up to the new house today and unpack 5 or 6 boxes. It takes forever and then I turn around and I still have so much more to go!!!!!!!! I just want to get rid of half of the junk we have collected over the past 10 years instead of storing it in the basement so it can just take up room.

Well, off to watch Grey's Anatomy. My Thursday night addiction.

November what?

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

This is pathetic, but now that I am a stay at home Mom, I never know what day it is! I had to look on the MSN homepage to find out that it was the 13th! Days just keep on flying by. Time never went this fast when I was working at the hospital! I took the 5 hounds on a walk today and we got soaked! It was still fun. Then I went up to the new house and unpacked some more of the kitchen while Luke hung some blinds. We are hoping to be moved in soon. He needs to finish the dog kennel which is almost done and then we can move. He has been mad at me because I won't move up until the kennel is done, but they are my babies and I can't leave them all alone at this house. They are part of the family and they are moving with us! I just hope that they adjust well, it is just up the road, but they have never moved before! Gracie has been sleeping all day today, I think it might be the cold weather outside that is making her so tired, either that or I am going to have a fun filled night of her not sleeping! Steph was right, this is addicting. I will do my best to write as often as I can, but once we unhook the computer to move it might be a few days, so stay tuned.....

Lazy day Monday

Monday November 12, 2007

Today I woke up wanting to cook a pot of soup because it is getting colder and more winter like. I managed to throw together some lima beans, onions, tomatoes, ham and chicken stock and it turned out pretty darn good. I am obsessed with Rachael Ray and I hope to one day be able to cook half as good as she does. Gracie is just growing up so fast. I can't believe that in the past three months she no longer has the newborn look. She is just a beautiful little girl. She was wearing her doggy onesie today with jeans and I took a pic, but haven't downloaded it yet, but I do have some pics that I want to post. She had her blessing last Sunday and was such a beautiful baby. Hope you like the pics!

Rainy Day Sunday

Sunday, November 11, 2007

Woke up today to the sound of pouring rain. Love that sound. Gracie is growing up so fast. She managed to scratch her face with her fingernails again. It seems like I cut them every other day and yet they grow faster and faster. She is the highlight of my life. She has these giant dimples that are going to get her whatever she wants. I will post some dimple pics so you can see just how cute she is. Sadie and Dusty are bummed that it is raining. They wanted to go outside and play with Millie and Daisy.
