Out of Commission!

Thursday, January 31, 2008

First and foremost, I wanted to pay tribute to our Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley who is now with his cute wife again. What a reunion they are having! I would love to be there just to witness that! He truly has touched my life in so many ways and I can't wait for the day that I can actually meet that special man. A man that can say he lived a life without any regrets. I sure wish I could say that. He is such a great example to me and I need to go and get a picture of him to hang in my new home. I want Gracie to be able to see him all the time. Such an inspiration to us all.

Here it is the last day of January and I feel like we just barely started the month! I have been out of commission this past week. I caught the crud bug that started out with a sore throat that turned into a nasty, nasty head cold that made me want to crawl in a hole and die. Gracie had to have her 6 month shots on Tuesday which was horrible and she got so sick after. Her temperature got up to 103.5 and I was getting panicked so I called the on call doc that night which luckily was her doc and he had me double up on some medicine which broke the fever. She just hasn't been herself and I hate that. Her cute little thighs are all brusied. I hate those dang shots. She never gets a fever like that after shots but this time she had a flu shot, and I think that did it to her. SO I am anti flu shot. I have had them before and I always get sick! The night of all this drama I got the throw-ups and of course Luke sleeps through everything so I would puke, hold Gracie to calm her down every hour, just so exhausting. Men have no clue!!!!!!!!!

I started my medical transcription class back up. It is nice because I can go at my own pace. It is so sad how much information I can't remember after having those strokes. So I basically have to start over from the beginning which is so frusturating since I was half done!

The wind has been unbelievable out here today. The drifts are so bad! I don't know if Luke will even make it up the driveway after work tonight. I didn't even take Millie and Daisy outside to their house tonight because it is all drifted over! They are in here curled up in a ball next to me. So cute!

I hope you are all staying happy, healthy and warm!!!! I am hoping I am on the downside of this nasty cold, but with diabetes and a pathetic immune system, it takes me 10 times longer than anyone to get over something! Grrrr! I am off to try and catch some sleep! Night!

Miss Gracie is 6 Months!

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

I can't believe that my baby is already 6 months old today! It is like I blinked and it is six months later. Everyone keeps telling me I am going to blink again and she will be married! She is so much fun and getting such a fun and cute personality!

Today we went on a fun lunch date with Stephanie and Harli! It was so much fun meeting that little girl. She looks so much like Stephanie and is so dang cute! I can't wait for Gracie to be a little older so they can actually play together. Oh the mischeif they will get into!

As Steph and I were chatting over lunch we found out that the same doc at Mckay-Dee delivered our babies so I had to post a picture of him. His name is Rocky Seale and I think he is incredibly beautiful and talented too! So here he is!

Gracie is about 6 weeks old in the picture. He was singing at Snow Basin for Labor Day and invited us up to come hear him sing and play and he has an amazing voice and can play the guitar really well! Well, I am off to go scrub down the kitchen...I hope to someday be as organized as Steph but I have a long ways to go!

I've Been Tagged!

Saturday, January 12, 2008

My cute friend Janis tagged me so here goes....

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Happy Birthday Mark!

Friday, January 4, 2008

Today is my little brother's 29th bday. I can't believe he is that old. I am just so sad at how fast time has gone, but boy do we have some awesome memories and I can't wait to make more with him. I love him so much! Happy Bday Mark!

Today I went to Logan to grocery shop and my cute parents watched Gracie. She sure thinks the world of Grandma and Papa! She has almost outgrown her car seat! I can't believe that. I think she is going to be taller than me. Hopefully she won't get my metabolism though. I hope she can eat like my friend Bonnie and not gain an ounce! If I even look at someone eating something fattening I gain weight!

I went to the doctor on Friday for my regular 3 month diabetic check-up and I had to have a bunch of tests run which I hate. For those of you that know me well, then you know how terrified of needles I am. I have a great disease for that problem! The doctor's office called back within a few hours with my results which is really rare because it usually takes about a week. I am happy to report that my kidneys are still hanging in there and as good as they can be, especially after the trauma they went through getting Gracie here. The problem I wasn't expecting was my thyroid. Apparently it is dangerously low which they don't see often. The medical assistant that called with the results was surprised that I wasn't really tired, dizzy and not fainting. There isn't much they can do for it, but I don't feel any different. My doc is hoping that the lab just made an error since my thyroid has always been good and I get to have all the tests redone in about 6 months lucky me. The worst part is that I have pathetic deep, very small veins and they can never find them so the guy taking my blood just went straight for my hand and had to dig for 5 minutes, so it looks just beautiful! I was dreading sitting there in that chair while he dug around, but I had told him the story about me dying and the seizures and the 4 strokes I had while trying to get Gracie here and he looked at me and said you are so lucky to be sitting here right now! And ever since then I have realized that I need to focus on my precious life! I was hating sitting there, but then I realized I am sooooo lucky to be sitting there. So, so lucky.

New Year's Resolutions.....

January 1, 2008

I can't believe it is already 2008. That means that I graduated from high school 15 years ago this year. That is so depressing! I remember back in the day when I thought 30 year old's were ancient. Now the older I get, the younger people seem. I would like to make some New Year's Resolutions.....

1. Lose Weight! I would like to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight and that means I have 20 pounds to go! I would like to lose even more than that, but let's start small. I probably need to start going back to Weight Watchers because that is how I lost my 50 pounds before. I just hate having to weigh in every week, but hey, it works!

2. Have date night with Luke more often. Since we had Gracie, we haven't even been to a movie!

3. Get family pictures done. We haven't had them done in about 4 years now. I would love to have them done now that we have Gracie and it would be fun to include the hounds too.

4. Walk the dogs more! I walk them about 4 times a week when the weather is good and I would like to increase it by at least one day. They love it and it is so good for me and that will help me with Resolution #1.

5. Update my journal more often. It seems like I only write in it once every few months when something exciting happens and I want Gracie to be able to read about my life. I started a journal that I have been writing to her since the day I found out I was expecting and I have been pretty good at keeping that up.

6. Organization! I have so much to organize and so much to send to the D.I. We just finished moving everything out of the old house and it is now all piled in our new garage so we can't even park our cars in there. We are talking mounds of junk. We have already filled 2 dumpsters and we haven't even made a dent. But I have started a large D.I. pile, so that is a start.

7. Cooking. I want to learn how to cook better. Today I cooked a turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread, stuffing and a cheesecake. It was delicious. I was so surprised that I cooked something that tasted that great! MMMMMM! I want to use the kitchen aid Luke got me a lot more. I want to be the next Rachael Ray!

8. Learn how to digital scrapbook! Steph has the cutest stuff and I want to learn how to do that!

9. Finish my Medical Transcription class so that I can start making an income here at home!

10. Now our church is at 12:30 and I want to make sure we are there all the time so that we are setting a good example for Gracie, and me too!

I probably could list 100 other goals that I would like to accomplish, but let's start with these. And of course, I can't blog without posting a pic of my baby! Happy New Years!!!!Photobucket
